AI is becoming an important tool for fundraising work. Many fundraisers know that AI can help, but they are still learning how to use it well, ethically, and with confidence.
AI Bootcamp for Fundraisers: Beyond the Basics to More Strategic Fundraising is a full-day, hands-on program for fundraising professionals who are new to AI or still in the early stages of using it. The program will help participants move beyond basic experimentation and start using AI in practical ways in their daily work.
This bootcamp will focus on core skills that fundraisers can use right away. Participants will learn how to use AI responsibly, write better prompts, improve writing while keeping their own voice, plan work with AI, use AI as a thought partner, and turn a good prompt into a repeatable workflow.
The day will include short teaching sessions, live demonstrations, guided practice, and peer work. In the afternoon, participants will move into role-based breakout groups focused on Communications & Annual Giving, Frontline Fundraising, and Prospect Research. In these groups, they will apply the day’s skills to these general area of fundraising.
By the end of the day, participants will have a clearer understanding of how to use AI in a responsible and strategic way. They will also leave with practical tools, drafts, prompts, or workflows that they can continue to use at their own organizations.
This program is a good fit for fundraising professionals, executive directors, small-shop generalists, and anyone else in your organization who wants to use AI more effectively. No advanced technical background is required.
Participants will leave with:
- A practical framework for responsible AI use in fundraising.
- A better understanding of how to write useful prompts.
- A reusable prompt or organization summary.
- A revised communication, plan, or draft.
- A clearer way to use AI as a thought partner.
- A role-specific work product or workflow started during the workshop.
- A list of future workflows that could be developed with custom GPTs or agentic AI.
- A strong foundation for the spring advanced AI Bootcamp.

A more advanced AI Bootcamp will be offered in the spring. The spring program will build on the fall bootcamp and will focus on more advanced tools, including custom GPTs, AI Assistants, and agentic AI. That program will help participants use AI to improve, connect, and automate more complex workflows.
