    Basics is an introduction to fundraising for those who are new to the field. Career changers and junior professionals turn to Basics to acquire fundamental skills necessary for building a successful fundraising program. Development directors and CEOs encourage their staff to attend to give them a well rounded knowledge of fundraising and development.

    The course includes a series of master sessions taught by a faculty of practicing professionals in the field who are eager to share their knowledge with you. You will have direct access to accomplished individuals from a variety of fundraising sectors.

    Learn to apply fundraising techniques in the context of changing demographics, emerging management models, and ethical challenges. The Basics Course covers all areas of the development process from identifying your priorities and prospects, through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process, and planned giving. Corporate and foundation solicitation strategies, major gifts and capital campaign components also will be covered. Students will receive comprehensive resources and summaries for each interactive session.

    You will have an opportunity to network with other professionals in the field and leave with a lasting experience that provides resources to draw upon as your fundraising career develops.

    There is much talk in development, at non-profits of all sizes, about data-driven fundraising. What does that mean and how do you do it well? Incorporating key metrics and performance indicators can help elevate your advancement operations. Are you measuring everything that can be measured? How are you using data to evaluate your fundraising program and set benchmarks? Data is an important tool in fundraising more effectively, managing staff more efficiently, and most importantly – raising more money. In this presentation, we will discuss how you can use your data to drive strategic decision making, staffing decisions, and donor cultivation and solicitation.

    AFP Massachusetts Chapter is pleased to present the 2018 Meet the Funders Breakfast & Roundtables on Wednesday May 9, 2018 at the University of Massachusetts Club in Boston. This is a unique event where you can meet directly with representatives of high profile area foundations. Attendees will receive an insider's look at giving guidelines and interests. During the two-hour program, there will be two rotations so that each attendee can participate in three Funder presentations. A full list of Funder representatives will be announced in early spring.
