Basics is an introduction to fundraising for those who are new to the field. Career changers and junior professionals turn to Basics to acquire fundamental skills necessary for building a successful fundraising program. Development directors and CEOs encourage their staff to attend to give them a well rounded knowledge of basics.

The course includes a series of master sessions taught by a faculty of practicing professionals in the field who are eager to share their knowledge with you. You will have direct access to accomplished individuals from a variety of fundraising sectors.

You will get a lesson in the applications of fundraising techniques in the context of changing demographics, emerging management models, and ethical challenges. Basics covers all areas of the development process from identifying your priorities and prospects, through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process, and planned giving. Corporate and foundation solicitation strategies, major gifts and capital campaign components also will be covered. Handouts and related reference material will provide you with comprehensive summaries of each interactive session.

You will have an opportunity to network with other professionals in the field and leave with a lasting experience that provides resources to draw upon as your fundraising career develops.
